Serving people experiencing homelessness with compassion, dignity, practical care, prayer, and the hope of Jesus Christ.
Every person is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Lai Baptist Church desires to respond to the needs of people experiencing homelessness with Christ-like compassion. Our hope is to serve practically, build relationships, pray faithfully, and share the hope found in Jesus Christ.
Our outreach seeks to reflect the love and compassion of Christ in practical ways.
We seek to treat every person with respect, recognizing the God-given dignity of every human being.
We want our response to hardship to be marked by genuine compassion rather than judgment.
We look for appropriate ways to provide practical help and encouragement to those facing difficult circumstances.
Alongside practical care, we desire to point people toward the hope, grace, and salvation found in Jesus Christ.
“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.”Proverbs 19:17
Homelessness can involve many different circumstances and challenges. Faithful outreach begins by listening, learning, and treating people as neighbors rather than simply as problems to solve.
We want our ministry to create opportunities for meaningful relationships while responding appropriately to practical needs.
We seek to approach homeless outreach with humility, wisdom, consistency, and love.
When appropriate, we seek opportunities to provide practical assistance and connect people with helpful resources.
Prayer is central to our ministry. We desire to encourage people and bring their needs before God.
We want our service to reflect the Gospel and create opportunities to speak about the hope of Jesus Christ.
This section shares a real outreach update from the homeless outreach ministry of Lai Baptist Church.
Donation Date: 10/08/26
Today, Lai Baptist Church was grateful for the opportunity to donate to Friends of Night People in Buffalo, New York. Through this outreach, we seek to share God's love, demonstrate the compassion of Jesus Christ, and support our neighbors experiencing hardship. We thank God for the opportunity to serve our community and be a blessing to those in need.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25:40 (NIV)
We invite our church family to pray, serve, encourage, and look for opportunities to reflect the love of Christ in our community.
